Council
I was on Sarnia City
Council for the two terms, starting midway through the 1997-2000 term
and the full 2000-2003 term.
This is a partial list of
accomplishments of Council while I was a member:
- We approved and have
seen construction and operation of the new sewage disposal plant.
Sarnia is no longer the biggest source of pollution on the St. Clair
River.
- The first Business Park
was bought and is now occupied by UBE, a new
industry in Sarnia.
- A new business park has
been purchased and will soon be available for tenants.
- The establishment of a
call centre industry, first with RMH and
followed up with Marriott and StarTek.
- We finally settled the
"Clearwater Land Deal" situation.
- Shoreline protection
project in Brights Grove.
- Agreement with the
provincial gaming commission to get funding from Hiawatha
Slots.
