Sarnia & Lambton Housing Authority

I was appointed, by order-in-council, as member and Chair of the Board  of the Sarnia & Lambton Housing Authority, in November 1996. I was re-appointed in April 1999. My term as chair ended when the authority itself ended on January 1, 2001. (I should note that this was an unpaid, strictly voluntary position.)

The Sarnia & Lambton Housing authority was one of 56 Provincial Housing Authorities whose function was "down loaded" to the municipalities. I am pleased that I was able to help the County of Lambton to take over the responsibility smoothly without affecting the tenants or staff.

While on the housing authority, I was elected, by the chairs of the other authorities in Southwestern Ontario, to be their representative on the Provincial Housing Authorities Advisory Council to the Ontario Housing Corporation and the Ministry of Housing.
